Adopt A Scorpion
With our 2011 spring training beginning in May, the Yuma Scorpions are looking for those wanting to be ‘host families’-one of the most integral parts of the Scorpions’ team-to come forward.
“Host families” are those Yuma area residents who allow players on the Scorpions’ 2011 roster to stay in their homes during the season. The Scorpions will need enough host families to house twenty-eight players during spring training, and enough for 22 players during the regular season.
Even though Scorpions’ players will only be in their host families’ homes for a short time, it’s amazing how many times the players become part of those families for years to come.
Benefits the Scorpions offer to our host families include:

Two season tickets for the 2011 season.

50% discount on concessions (excluding alcohol purchases).

25% discount on all merchandise purchases.

Invitation to a pre-season BBQ to meet all the players.

Invitation to an end of the season BBQ for all Host Families.
What does it take to be a host family? For starters, a desire to be more involved in the Scorpions than just a casual fan. Second, a spare room and shower for the player that will be available between the last two weeks of May and September 15th of this year. And finally, the ability to call the Scorpions’ offices to get more information and put your name on the host family list.
Our Host Family Program has been a success since its inception, and many of our players have established good friendships with their host families. The experiences they have had with the families have helped them in their "home away from home."
